Winter Hibernation

It seems that the season of cold harsh weather causes something in me that only be akin to Grizzly bears in Winter. Crawl into a cave and sleep, metaphorically that is.

Rain lashes down and snow and sleet are forecast the length of the country, together with gusts of wind that would clearly take any roof off. Does this deter me in my quest to get that ultimate shot, honestly yes but i would like to think that i do give it a fair go. The professional season is in its closed season but i still continue with my track captures series at my home track proving that there is a thriving grassroot following here in the east of the country.

Tracks are closing all the time and the spaces for that legal drifting high are getting few and far between but i still attend my local arena to get the blood racing through my veins both behind a camera and behind the wheel of my drift junk heap.

I`ve never claimed to be James Deane or Conor Shanahan, far from it but i do relish the buzz that it provides, the smile it puts on your face when you come off track. That`s the feeling i want to capture whenever i take a picture. That moment of accomplishment and thrill that drifting promotes.

Winter does show also a slowing in my posts and for that i apologise, i often get lost in the melee of it all and forget to feel grounded. Never forget your roots, behind the lens proving your worth camera wise and giving the drivers something to treasure and hold on to. A brief capture of a moment that will live forever. I do try.

To me, its about giving something back. A brief glimpse of brilliance of others. That makes me smile.

With that being said it`s about time i kick on and hit this thing head on, getting back to full speed and putting my foot down.

This year i am working with some good friends that think like me. Welcome to the downshifters life MAPT Motorsport. Representing drivers from the BDC and Driftcup i am aiming to hit that mark by bringing a grassroot team to the top of the table.

Its also about time i make my mark on the scene too. I will provide the best i possibly can via this site and the facebook page. Making both MAPT and Downshifters.life something to remember.

Thank you for the time taken to visit and i hope you come back to see my journey and others too.
